The operation, which was carried out by a doctor working as a sub-contractor to the clinic, left the 33-year-old, from Leeds , with grossly asymmetrical breasts. Her left nipple was far higher than the right and each breast was left with a double as opposed to single mound, or "cottage loaf", appearance.

TJL Solicitors arranged for Rachel to be examined by an independent consultant plastic surgeon who concluded that the doctor had failed to correctly position the implants behind Rachel's chest wall. He also said she would require corrective surgery to remedy the problem.

TJL Solicitors successfully sued the sub-contracting doctor and won £21,500 damages for Rachel in respect of the pain, suffering and trauma she endured, her loss of earnings and to cover the cost of the corrective surgery she required.
