Cosmetic surgery takes many forms, and people seek it out for many reasons – to look younger, gain confidence, get that celebrity ‘look’, or simply to smooth out any unsightly lumps and bumps. But what about using plastic surgery to turn into an animal?
Cosmetic surgery and body modification, along with tattooing, have been stretched to the limit in order to meet people’s animalistic ambitions. We look at the three most extreme examples of real people using plastic surgery to transform themselves into an animal.
1. Jocelyn Wildenstein – Catwoman
Perhaps most famous of all animal transformations is New York socialite Jocelyn Wildenstein. Also known as Catwoman, or the Lion Queen, Wildenstein has reportedly spent millions of dollars on surgery. The reason? Love.
Fearful of the waning passion of her now late husband, art dealer Alec Wildenstein, the Catwoman turned to drastic measures. Knowing Mr Wildenstein’s great passion in life was for the jungle cats that roamed his African private reserve, his wife began the first of many feline procedures.
One plastic surgeon, Dr Anthony Youn, believes Wildenstein has undergone a canthopexy, a procedure that adjusts eyes to give them a more catlike appearance. In addition, he said, Wildenstein has most likely received lip plumping injections, cheek implants, a brow lift, a facelift, chin augmentation, and upper and lower eyelid surgery.
Earlier this year, Wildenstein told The People she was not done yet, “I am not adverse to having more work. I would happily have more if I felt I needed it. Why not?”
She continued, “I may one day be the oldest person in the world to have cosmetic surgery.”
2. Ted Richards – Parrotman
Ted ‘Parrotman’ Richards, from Bristol, earned himself the title of The Human Parrot after cutting off his ears to resemble his favourite bird.
Along with the six-hour ear-removal operation, Richards has over a hundred tattoos and more than 150 piercings as a homage to his feathered friends. To finish the look, each of Richards’ eyeballs are brightly coloured – the whites of each eye tattooed permanently with a needle and syringe.
3. Eva Tiamat Medusa – Dragon Lady
Dragon Lady Eva Tiamat Baphoment Medusa, who goes by the pronoun ‘it’, has spent over 20 years transforming into a reptoid.
Abandoned in the woods by her mother and stepfather at an early age, the Dragon Lady said it became fascinated by the snakes that inhabited the area.
It said, “My whole transformation today is basically an honor to my reptilian parents which are the rattlesnakes.. the Western Diamondback in particular.”
Born Richard Hernandez in Arizona, the Dragon Lady has spent upwards of $60,000 on procedures that include the removal of ears; horn and eyebrow dome implants; a shaved down nose; a forked tongue; and dyed green eyes.
It said on Facebook: “I don’t care what people say about me or my views, and if I have to I will defy and stand alone against the world, but never will I make any compromise to my integrity.”
