About Fractora treatment

Fractora is a radio-frequency anti-ageing treatment that attempts to produce a more radiant appearance for a patient’s skin tone and texture. It is typically used on  areas of the skin that have fine or deep wrinkles, scars or discoloured skin tone, such as eyelids, cheeks, the mouth and the neck.

As people age, their skin loses volume, elasticity and becomes thinner and drier.  While there are different treatments to combat these signs of ageing, such as chemical peels and dermal fillers, the use of treatments like Fractora is increasing in popularity.

Despite the fact radio-frequency treatment has been used in medical procedures for many years, its use in cosmetic surgery is relatively recent.

The procedure

Fractora treatment is carried out under a local anaesthetic. A small probe containing micro-needles is held against the patient’s skin to deliver the radio-frequency energy into the skin. The heat generated by the needles in the sub-dermal tissue aims to promote collagen restructuring in order to aid rejuvenation and give an improved appearance.

Typically the results will be visible about two weeks after treatment and will continue to be visible for around two or three months.

Examples of negligence

Recovery from a Fractora treatment normally takes a week to ten days and there may be some swelling and bruising initially.

If, however, you feel that there are potential complications from your treatment, some common signs could be encountered.

  • Excessive post-operation swelling
  • Inappropriate scarring
  • Blistering
