Tattoo Removal Compensation Claims

Are you unsatisfied with your tattoo removal treatment? If so, the specialists at Cosmetic Surgery Solicitors can help you make a claim for compensation.

The majority of procedures of this kind are carried out successfully. However mistakes can happen during what can be a complex procedure – particularly if there are unqualified and inexperienced surgeons or clinics involved.

If these errors were the result of incompetence or negligence, we are the team to turn to – we have a 95% success rate on all cases pursued after obtaining medical evidence and have recovered over £3 million of compensation for clients to date.

About Tattoo Removal Treatment

The huge increase and ready acceptance of body art has led to more and more people wishing to deal with unwanted tattoos. With cosmetic laser surgery currently being the most efficient way of removing a tattoo, it’s inevitable that the popularity of the treatment – which has permanent results – has increased in recent years.

The treatment works by passing light through the skin and breaking up the unwanted tattoo ink into tiny particles. The particles are then broken down into fragments, which are carried by white blood cells through the body’s immune system. The tattoo fades bit by bit over several treatments.

The simplest tattoos may require as few as three removal treatments, but normally a minimum of nine treatments are required. For more complex tattoos, further sessions would be needed to remove the work entirely. The results are permanent.

Examples of negligence

When negligence has occurred, the following symptoms are common:

  • Hypopigmentation, where the area of the skin operated on is lightened
  • Darkening of the skin or hyperpigmentation following treatment
  • Colour change, in which the tattoo is darkened
  • Permanent inappropriate scarring
